The single strongest piece of evidence we have for that sits in our own survey data. Of the 292 travellers who reported both legs of their voyage, 136 got one Drake Lake and one Drake Shake on the same trip. That's 47 percent, nearly half, experiencing both extremes within about a week of each other on the same ship.
