For most people, no. Balconies are closed during Drake crossings for safety, so they're unavailable exactly when you might imagine using them. They sit higher on the ship, where you feel more motion. And during the Antarctic days themselves you'll be ashore, in a Zodiac, or up on the open deck where the view is better and you can actually hear what's going on.
If you'd value stepping outside in a dressing gown with a coffee while the ship repositions through the Gerlache, that's a real pleasure and it's your money. Just don't buy one expecting it to help with seasickness, because the physics run the other way.
Spend the difference on an activity like kayaking instead, or on a longer itinerary. Both change your trip more than a balcony does.
