The voyage begins in Punta Arenas, where you’ll meet your fellow expeditioners and attend a pre-flight briefing, with time to explore this historic city at the edge of the Straits of Magellan. Weather permitting, a charter flight on Day 2 takes you to King George Island in the South Shetland Islands, where you’ll embark on your expedition vessel.
Over the following week, explore the western Antarctic Peninsula and surrounding islands, with Zodiac excursions and landings that may include penguin rookeries, icy bays, and historic huts. With nearly 24 hours of daylight, each day offers chances to spot whales, seals, and seabirds, cruise among towering icebergs, and even take a polar plunge.
After a final morning in the South Shetland Islands, the ship re-crosses the Drake Passage toward South America. Weather permitting, the voyage may pass by Cape Horn before arriving in Ushuaia via the Beagle Channel. The journey concludes with disembarkation and onward transfers from Ushuaia, leaving you with unforgettable memories of the White Continent.
